Grouting Handmade Glass - Architessa

Some glass, such as Agate from Lunada Bay, are hand-poured using old-world, handcrafted techniques. This material is expected to show high variation in color, tone, shade, and size. Additionally, you will notice occasional creases, wrinkles, shivers, fissures, chips, irregularities, waves and bubbles typical of hand-made glass. These characteristics of hand-made glass only serve to enhance the final beauty of the installation.

Additionally, once the glass is grouted it is normal for the grout to accumulate in the creases and wrinkles. It is important to let your clients know what to expect prior to selling them the material. We recommend a grout release for all glass that has inherent fissures.
