The standard go-to for laying tile is usually a one third offset or stacked pattern using one size of tile. If you don't mind getting a bit creative, you can create a beautiful and organic look by using multiple sizes of tiles. Using interlocking patterns of tile creates a more randomized look while ensuring that your layout will fill in every inch of your floorplan.
A great way to find interlocking pattern inspiration is to browse products in our Landmark Contract Collections, and see how they are shown in this Tile Laying Patterns Book
A simple one or two tile pattern creates a more structured look. Take a look at these below examples of repeating tile patterns to see how your floor might look when it's all laid out. You can use these tile layouts for stone, porcelain, ceramic, or cement tiles. Try them out on outdoor pavers for a gorgeous patio or poolside design.
Remember to always consult your installer and manufacturer recommendations to ensure that grout joints and layouts are set appropriately for a beautiful installation.
Our friendly, knowledgeable staff are always happy to help advise on tile design. Visit one of ourDC, MD, or VA tile stores for a free tile design consultation.
